Ingredients:
This classic Tibetan prayer flag is hand silk screened on cotton by the Tibetan Nuns Project in Dharamsala, India.
Each string is a set of 5 flags
9” high x 7” wide x 3’long
Points of interest:
This flag has contains five mythical animals. Clockwise from the upper left, Dragon, Garuda, Snowlion, Tiger and the Windhorse in the center. The hanging of prayer flags is thought to promote good fortune and to dispel danger. In Tibet, they are called Lung-ta or Windhorse, named for the traditional character who carries the prayers to the universe. On his back are the triple gems of Buddhism «Éś Buddha (teacher), Dharma (teachings) Sangha (monastic followers). The five flag colors represent the five elements: Blue - earth, White - water, Red - fire, Saffron - infinite space and Green - wind.
